The MTP program

The Ministry Training Program (MTP) aims to equip our staff members for the hostel ministry and to deepen their faith. The program consists of 5 tracks.

If you join the Shelter YHM for 12 months, you will be able to follow the complete program. If you join for a shorter period, you will follow part of the program. However, the courses are given in blocks of 5 to 8 weeks and coincide with the starting dates for new staff. This means that you will be able to follow complete courses.

TRACK 1.  Inward - Root deep in faith 
               Series on The basics of the gospel
               Series on What do we believe about the Bible?
               Series on How to read the Bible?
               Series on a study of a Bible book
               Series on Spiritual disciplines
               Series on Prayer
               Series on discipleship
               Bible studies as preparation for Christmas and Easter

TRACK 2. Outward - Relate well to culture
              Series on Apologetics
              Series on World Religions
              Series on Modern culture and religion
              Series on Sex in the city of Amsterdam
              Series on God and the city
             
TRACK 3.  Care for team and self
               Series on Teambuilding
               Series on spiritual life and dealing with emotions

TRACK 4. Work professionally
              Training in how to do the Reception work
              Training in how to do the Cafe work
              Training in what to do in Emergencies
              Intro to the touristy high points of the city centre

TRACK 5. Follow Christ in ministry
              Training in preparing and leading an Outreach
              Training in giving your testimony
              Training in doing a short devotional talk
              Training in doing drama
              Training in preparing and leading a Bible discussion
              Training in Preparing and leading a Film discussion
